RBI is an artist working at the intersection of clarinet, computation, and club-derived sound. Her practice engages electroacoustic composition as a site for collapsing distinctions between instrumental tradition and contemporary digital culture, informed by architectural acoustics, punk aesthetics, and anti-club frameworks. Emerging from Naarm’s dance music underground, she carries forward the rhythmic and affective intensities of jungle, IDM, and sound system culture into a live, interdisciplinary context.

Her work often centres on the clarinet as a destabilised object—extended, processed, and diffused through real-time electronics—producing granular textures, spectral residues, and unstable harmonic fields. Across performance and composition, she navigates the tension between physical gesture and synthetic transformation, seeking forms that retain kinetic urgency while resisting fixed genre or format.

Recent projects include a 2023 collaboration with Sleep D and Hektor for Hear My Eyes, re-scoring Pan’s Labyrinth for live performance across Australia (forthcoming release, 2026), and a 2025 fellowship at Princeton University. RBI is currently developing new work that expands her live practice toward increasingly hybrid and spatialised forms.
